    Roxysdad
    « on: May 15, 2020, 09:24:54 am »
I’ve used the name Roxysdad for the first time on this forum because our Cockapoo is called Roxy, she’s 3-1/2 years old quite lively and very loving she adores children and people.
She has travelled with us in our motorhome down to Benidorm 3 times and she loved it, now she loves our travels to north Wales and walking along the beach.

My avatar shows our late miniature Jack Russell she was named Scrumpy we had her for 15 years and 3 months she travelled with us holidays all over France and for her final 4 years she accompanied us 8 times down to Benidorm.

Roxy looks cool. A Cockapoo is on our list. My wife and myself love dogs but our 3 year old is not sure at the moment. She has picked up from the nursery that dogs are scary. Also I think the sister in law's giant Old English has made her weary. She doesn't run or scream she is just nonchalant and when asked says she doesn't want one.

I think a Cockapoo will have the right temperament and size that she'll form an inseparable bond. Still some thinking to do

If you’re thinking of buying a Cockapoo there are things to think about, their fur is Hypoallergenic so anyone with allergies won’t have any problems.
They do not moult but their fur constantly grows, they need grooming regularly ore else their fur becomes very tangled  and need to be cut every 8 to 10 weeks we pay £35 to have Roxy cut.

They are a very loving breed and just love people especially children and also they need plenty of exercise.

    John.

I've had a couple of dogs, both passed away now poor things, My first was Sam, a Black Labrador, Lovely dog, Loved going into the sea everytime we went to the beach, Had him for 15 and a half years before we had to put him to sleep  :'(

Long time for a labrador, Then about a year later we had Simba, a long haired alsatian, but after a few years he had a bad skin condition which was costing us almost £40 a month, Tried to get him rehomed with charities but no luck, The vet finally told us it would be fair on the dog to let him go as the condition would only worsen, there was no cure apparently ?? So no we don't have any.

We had both cremated and now are buried in our garden

We are used to hypo-allergenic dogs. We had an Old English who passed due to old age, they don't moult and need a good trim and brush regularly. . Zack, he was great. Loving and very loyal. Just a shame our little one never got to meet him.

We are going to do some de-sensitisation and borrow a calm dog from a friend so our little one can get used to him and understand there is nothing to fear, even though she's not actually scared.
