Static Caravans selling yet ?

Hi, just wondered if any of your Sites still have vans for sale.  Ours had 3 on the market before the lockdown and I wondered if, due to the difficulty with overseas holidays, they might suddenly become more attractive and sell quickly.

My site has invested heavily in lodges. Developing a new piece of land at the top of the site (it's on a rather steep hill). Probably about 20 of them. They have been actively marketing them for a little while. I wonder if there will be a price increase now.

I would not be surprised, there could be an increased demand.

Our site have a few for sale.

One was bought last year. Now on the market again. Though there might be more people looking to buy.

I think there will be many others selling up due to either being made redundant or loss of income

Especially if maybe the van was bought on a loan

I suppose we will have to wait and see what happens.

If ‘vans are coming up for sale because the current owners are struggling with keeping them financially then I’ve got to wonder how many in the area are in a good enough financial state to buy them?  I’m not sure But two have gone up for sale onthe small park I’m on so I’ll see how quickly they sell.

Our site in North Wales had 4 caravans for-sale after lockdown and they’ve sold them all.

A local static caravan dealers forecourt looks so empty. They’ve sold all their 2020 stock including most of the display models. The manufacturers lost that 3-4 months production and it’s not being caught up with as even now they are not back at full production due to the social distancing required on the production lines. It’s about time they were getting out the 2021 models to the dealers and parks as well.

Our site had six for sale after lockdown. They now have one left.

I suppose people are buying due to the uncertainty of going abroad.

Been looking and researching into a static for next year all going well and was told by the Site Manager could be up to a year before I would get my van from the manufacturer due to Covid restrictions....

Also i think there has been a boom of people buying statics due to Covid and the uncertainty of travel abroad.

I know on our site any static that comes up for sale is sold within a week.
Last year there were several for sale and still for sale by the end of the season.

They were all bought as soon as the Covid restrictions were lifted.

Got to agree with you Ian157. Turned up on our site yesterday and where they normally have 8-10 on site ready to be sold, mix of new and pre-owned, they only have 2 pre-owned 

Holiday bookings are very high at the moment. Every free moment is booked for our ‘van this season right up to the final week of lettings. Will be interesting to see if sites start charging holiday makers more due to demand.

If you think about it, if you have kids in school you are pretty much stuck. If you basically leave the UK there is a 2 week quarantine, which pretty much means you’ll have to do the naughty and pull the kids out of school. So most families will probably be looking to stay in the UK. Anyone who wants to earn some easy money would seriously consider buying a static on a site and it’d pay for itself pretty quickly
