    GREETINGS
    « on: April 08, 2021, 04:21:44 pm »

    Hello from us new guys.
The story of our Caravan ownership.
After Many years of flights and holidays to various destinations a few times annually, last year came as a change of direction. In late September, early October last year we spent a week near Skegness in a large very nice and expensive house with our family. During this time, and a walk down the seafront. My wife and myself were admiring these large Caravans, complete with decking their noses pointing out to sea. We discussed watching the world go past whilst sat at a comfy chair on the decking with a glass of something nice.
After arriving home, I started looking at sites on the Yorkshire coast. Site reviews etc. I narrowed the choice down to 2 or 3 sites in the Hornsea Area. We visited and made a decision about our choice of base and Static Caravan to buy the same day. Within 3 weeks of moving in, the site closed and we left our new acquisition on November 4th. The rest as they say is history. We will return for a few days next week, like many of you.
In the short time we spent on the East coast last year, we hope to be spending much time there from now on.
As far as the trips abroad, we are now choosing about 80 minutes door to door and Yorkshire fresh air. With the occasional flight.

    SEELIFE, welcome to the forum.

Happy to hear that you have got that lovely little bolt hole by coast to get away too.

We too had a similar experience, a weekend away in a hotel in Cornwall and we thought what a lovely place to have somewhere where the kids can have a whale of a time etc. We then looked up sites and found the most family friendly one in the area that is close to the beaches.

You will have to let us know how you get on when you get back into the 'van. Have you had a chance to visit yet since lockdown restrictions have been eased slightly even if it's just for the day?

    Hi SeeLife,

All very exciting for you and we are also similarly new to the world of static caravan ownership.  In fact, we are viewing our perspective van next week after 12 + years of owning a touring caravan.

A big change of direction but one we are looking forward to.
