    « on: May 22, 2020, 05:05:38 pm »
Hello everyone i was on the Gostatic forum under Ian2307 however i did not log in very often. I used to just read the messages without logging in  :)
Looks a great site Gerry well done.
Think i live in your neck of the woods. Colchester. But my static is at Heathland Beach in Kessingland Suffolk.
Anyway thank you for accepting me. There seems to be a lot of interesting advice on here.

    Hi Ian,

Thanks for coming on board, today we celebrate our 2 weeks since Go Static Closed, Its been a challenge getting this far i tell you  8)

However we'll keep on going, giving the Static Caravan Community a new home. Feel free to post

Yes I'm from Colchester also, My Static is at St Osyth Beach so not far from me about half hour drive Can't wait to head back

Ian, I've taken on this site to build up a new community, its not a copy of go static, i want to be a bit different and giving the members here more choice of what they want to see here.

Thanks again for the Kind words

    Gerry

    Thank you Gerry.

Yes i bet it has but you have done a great job so far. Well done.

I know your site at St Osyth Beach very well. I used to repair their printers as a Xerox engineer before i retired.

Like you so looking forward to returning  to my static.

I retired just before Christmas and was hoping to spend a lot more time at the site  :( Hopefully this will be all over soon. Looks like maybe July.

No it wasent. I was so looking forward to this year.

Oh yes Africa Alive is very close. The site is situated between Africa Alive and Pontins on the old A12.

Yes there are some lovely places to visit. I love Southwold. The Broads and many places to visit.

Their season is from March 1st to October 31st. But i dont think i would use it during the winter anyway.

I think your site is open 11 months if i recall. Do you use it much in the winter?

    Ian

11.5 months, and yes i love it there in the winter, its just the owners and we have some great parties in the club, the year goes right through to the second week in feb when it closes down for 2 weeks
But yes i love it there in the winter, Theres nothing better than going back to the caravan after a night of entertainment for a decent coffee and a film  ;)

    Ahhh yes. :)

It must be better having a clubhouse and entertainment during the winter months. Makes it worthwhile.

The site i am on is family run. No clubhouse. Just a bar with a live band every so often a tennis court, childrens play area and a swimming pool. :)

    Thank you John.

Yes it is a great lifestyle. Your site sounds lovely.

I bought mine in 2017. A  2011 ABI Coniston. Similar to the St David but not so plush.  :)

The St David is a lovely static.

    Yes i am too.

I tried a Facebook group but there was so much bickering and complaining i got fed up with it. Some members were very rude to peoples comments.

At least here like Gostatic its all about helping one another and not getting abuse.

After all its a great lifestyle which should be enjoyed.

    Hi Ian,

A bit late to the party (BH weekend and all that) but welcome to the forum.

Glad you are here and like the rest of us chomping at the bit.

I went to the beach at the weekend (not with the hoards of people) and just thought how lovely it would be to do this down in Newquay where my 'van is located. Then rinse and repeat for 2 weeks. Ah well, I'll get there soon...

    Again welcome

    Thank you Sparkalicious

Sorry for the late reply only i had issues accessing my thread. Kept logging me out  ???

Anyway all seems to be ok now.

Yes like you really looking forward to going back to the van. Went on 21st March for the first time after winter but was only there for 3 days and had to return.
Luckily i did turn off the electricity and gas before leaving.

Newquay is a lovely part of the country but a bit too far for me.  ;D

Lets hope we all return to our statics soon.

    Again Thank you

    Ian

Lets keep our fingers crossed for some good news.

What i am worried about is with the kids going back to school etc the R rate will increase causing another lockdown  :'(

Meaning we prob will not be getting back to our statics this year.

    Lets hope not.

    Ian
