    Flaking Roof
    « on: August 11, 2024, 04:41:56 pm »
Hi Guys, I hope everyone is well!! I have a 2004 Cosalt Baysdale Static, it’s absolutely beautiful, however I’ve noticed that the paint on the roof sheets has started to “ flake” off in various places, my question is, how do I get on the roof without damaging or dinging the roof ? Secondly, Is it possible to sand and prepare the roof prior to repainting? If I collect enough paint flakes I may be able to get it colour matched at B & Q , has anyone else seen this problem before? Thanks Guys, Ged 15

    Hello mate,

Interesting one. Getting up there and it supporting you weigh would be the biggest issue. What type of finish are you looking for? Is it just to touch it up and weatherproof? If so then for me it would be a scraper/sander on a poll and then paint on with a roller on an extendable poll.

Paint would have to be of an outdoor variety. I'm wondering if you'd have to prime the roof first with some form of undercoat to get it to adhere better or if you could just put a couple of coats of the top stuff
