Hi
I am wondering how you got on?
I have a Pemberton Rivington, its new, I am first owner. Since taking possession May 2021, I have spent a total of 91 nights there, mainly me and the dog, hubs has been for around 20 nights maximum as he is working.
My carpets have flattened considerably, I vac daily / every other day, have tried rubber brushes, my vac has a turbo on it so have used that to try to lift the pile. You can feel the vac drop when it goes over these areas - the hall, the entrance into the bathroom, the bedroom and now beginning in the entrance to the lounge from the kitchen. My argument (having previously owned MUCH older Atlas, Swift caravans and a Wessex Lodge with NO issues, no sign of wear) is that the carpet is not fit for purpose, the pile is too long, if you had had this in your home you would have demanded replacement after what is the equivalent of 3 months usage by 1 person! They have dismissed it - "vac and brush it" and "multi tone carpets tend to flatten"......so why use them!! My heart drops when I walk in and see it.
I am interested that after sales haven't been helpful generally. I don't think my carpet falls under the Warranty??? I am not going to let it drop because I paid alot of money and was assured of Pemberton's attention to detail and finish, It looks like it has had a family of 10 use it constantly for a couple of years. Most caravans have a shorter, tightly knitted carpet for longevity and durability. I don't really know how to proceed.....do I make a formal complaint now, and speak to trading standards? My insurance is with NACO, is it worth speaking to them for guidance?
thank you for any advice
