Hi guys , I have just got to wandering why there is so little activity on the forum? has it dropped since myself and Jo joined 😂😂 We joined in I think it was October and have noticed since then how quite the forum is . Is it that’s just the way it is ? In the short time we have been on it we have found it both informative and enjoyable. And it seems like it’s easy to navigate , even for a tekki thicko like me 😊 I just thought that in the close season period there would be a bit more going on here while people have a bit more time .

I think most of us came over from another forum called gostatic that closed down . I suspect the number of visitors is dwindling , I can’t remember the last time I saw Gerry …the forum owner , on here. There’s a few hardcore left of which you are now a member 😁. When the season starts it will probably pick up a bit.

I think the off season and a bit of lockdown has much to do with it.

Things will pick up once the season starts again. The more we post the more people will want to engage.

Once I'm allowed back down on site I will do more to post about my goings on and photos of latest projects, or most likely questions

Another forum I belong to (residential park homes) is also extremely quiet, and has been for many months.
One of the reasons for this is, apparently,  a lot of posters now go to one of the facebook sites - and as there are a couple of facebook pages for static owners, I wonder if this is also the case here, although things always do go a bit quieter on the forums in winter.
(I am not a member of fb, but have been able to look on the open fb pages, and have been distinctly unimpressed, fb still seems to be mainly used for personal campaigns and/or personal vendettas; see nothing that encourages me to join. I'll stick to sensible discussions on this forum)

Yea just been looking through the members list , and of all the members registered very few have been active over the last two or three years. Well maybe when the new season opens it will encourage members to let everyone know what’s going on where they are.Places they have visited while away,wildlife they have spotted and site information. Let’s hope so .

Following up on this thread ,has anyone heard from Gerry ?  I don’t know him nor have never chatted with him ,just curious to know if he is ok .Seems a bit strange that he has just vanished after setting up such good forum.

I've not heard from him for a while. He did pop on briefly a little while back. He changed jobs as some point and then his presence got sketchy after that.

His profile said he was around on 26th Feb this year so he is about.

Now that most Sites are open and the weather is improving, I expect forum activity to increase.  Some people will find problems and will come to the forum for advice.  This is a valuable source of information, as well as place to share experiences (and pictures).
We were at the van last week to prepare for the season and have a good clean of the inside.  Going back this week to clean the outside and the decking. 
Hoping everyone enjoys their vans and lodges this year after having restrictions over the ast 2 years.

I think it’s fair to say that the forum has died a death ,shame really because there are as far as I know no other static & lodge forums on the internet.But it doesn’t appear to have ever really taken off .As far as I can see there are only 5or 6 active members ,as I say it’s a shame but these things happen .

I'm guessing since lockdown everyone has been busy going to their vans and not present on the Forum
