    Welsh caravan parks
    « on: June 22, 2020, 08:11:46 am »
There are different views of the topic about Welsh campsite opening some say the 13th July and some the 6th of July. This is what Mark Drakeford says, and I read it as the 6th July so I will have to wait for an email from our caravan park.

First minister Mark Drakeford says under his roadmap the stay local message will be lifted on that date and the "tourism economy will reopen" - with bookings allowed from July Summer holidays are back on in Wales with the tourism sector able to start opening from July 6 - as long as the virus stays under control.

First minister Mark Drakeford says under his roadmap the stay local message will be lifted on that date and the "tourism economy will reopen" - with bookings allowed from July 13.

This will allow people to stay in holiday cottages, caravan parks and hotels that have adjusted to allow guests to be "self contained".

There were no dates this morning on hospitality and attractions but more details may be provided at the 12.30pm Welsh Government briefing today.

This what Lyons holiday parks said.
    WE HAVE GREAT NEWS!!

Following yesterday’s announcements from both the UK and Welsh government, we can today confirm that our Holiday Parks will REOPEN ON 6TH JULY 2020!

It must be stated that this is subject to a number of critical factors being met, including the reproductive rate remaining within a certain range. We will provide further updates in the unlikely event our situation changes.

    OWNERS

WE CANNOT WAIT TO WELCOME YOU BACK… IT’S BEEN TOO LONG!!

Owners are welcome to join us on site on 6TH JULY FROM 9AM. Please note there will be a number of changes in order to ensure the health, safety and well-being of our staff, visitors to site and of course you, our extended family.

We will provide further updates in the days and weeks ahead of our official re-opening via our Facebook pages, our website and via email. In order to ensure you are on our mailing list, please forward your details to enquiries@lyonsholidayparks.co.uk.

In the meantime, start your countdown timers!
    John.

    That's great news John

There seemed to be some confusion on when owners of statics and 2nd homes could go. Whether the 6th or 13th.

I am glad you have had some clarification from your park.

ROXYSDAD, I listened to the First Minister on Friday Lunchtime and I heard differently to that.
What I heard was him saying that given no setbacks the travel restrictions would be lifted and that tourist attractions could reopen. He then went directly to saying that self contained accommodation could be got ready and bookings could be taken for dates from the 13th.
The Welsh governments website repeats this. The NCC & the BH&HPA have advised their memberships that this means no parks can open before the 13th. Lyons is apparently not a member of either of these bodies and has decided to go it’s own way. But I fear that the Welsh authorities might be informing them about this and they might  come into line before they open their gates. Time will tell.
Let’s hope we all get back to our ‘vans sooner rather than later.

I haven’t had clarification yet Ian as Lyons are not our caravan site.
