    Just an idea
    « on: June 18, 2020, 09:44:29 am »
Not sure if you can do this as my other half normal does all the online shop but what if you had a saved list of essentials to have for your caravan and then before you go you just order it online for delivery to the site ?

Would stop you worrying at the last minute, that way you can have chilled and frozen stuff delivered without the worry of defrosting on your journey there, But when i spoke to Mrs, she said that the tesco favorites saves everything you've ever ordered ?  Can it not do individual  saved lists ?? i.e "Caravan Shop"  ?

Don’t know if you can do that or not but if not just create an account in your name and use that for the van

Think it's a great idea. I'm just wondering if my site would even let them on and if the supermarket could even find the place. A lot of people have problems with the post code.

Something I'd look into when we eventually get down there.

I was thinking about not having to lugg all the food etc, Plus you really can't take frozen or chilled in this hot weather, So might do that, I've seen tesco vans there before, I could just make up an account and do it for the day i get there with all the staples, Milk Bread Eggs, Bacon, Wine, Beer, Wine More Beer and some Gin  ;)

So it turns out that on our site we can not get food deliveries to our 'vans  :'( Probably to make it harder for anyone who thinks they can be a long term resident.

We can get deliveries to reception and then pick it up from there but that would mean driving to reception, unloading to from the delivery van to my car and then unloading from the car to the 'van  ???

So I have gone for the next best thing. We have booked a click and collect service at the local superstore, MorrisonsWiki. It's only 5 mins down the road. We had big space issues in the car on our last trip, we had 3 adults and a 3 y/o. Mostly because of the amount of food and sundries that we decided to take down with us. It would be even worse for the next trip as we will be going down for a fortnight.

This will save us a bucket of space in the car so we won't have to have bags on laps etc for 5ish hours. When we arrive we will unload the car of all our stuff, the other half will unpack while I head off to pick up the shopping. Then that is all sorted. All our food for 2 weeks and no risk of some stuff de-frosting on the trip.

We will still cook the main meals at home and freeze flat in freezer bags. That means that all we have to do is throw on some pasta or microwave some rice for dinner as the main hard work will be done.

Gerry great tip as without this thread it probably would of taken me a while to come up with this idea

I did a click and collect from Morrisons too. As like you its only 5 minutes down the road.
The nearest food delivery date was 17th July and we were arriving on 4th July. So not a lot of good.

However they didn't have a dedicated click and collect area. Basically had to go to the goods inwards area
where there were some temporary barriers to park into.
Arrived at 8am. Thought it would be straightforward. But no.
Had to wait for an email to say you can collect. Which i was not aware of  ???
Only found that out when i entered the shop to see what i was supposed to do.

Now i just go early and shop in the supermarket.
I hope your experience will be better than mine.

Cheers, I'll keep an eye out for that email. I'm really hoping it will be seamless. Otherwise I'm off to Asda next time  8)

We found Sainsburys' Click & Collect painless.
Arrived on site around 1030 on Saturday.  Collected order at the allotted time of 1600-1630.
    No problems.

Cheers Gram. We have a Sainsbury's near us too. We usually use them at home. If this one is a pain it'll be our go to I think. Like you said painless. They have been set up for this for a while
