    My Horror Yesterday
    « on: July 05, 2020, 12:59:44 pm »
Oh well managed to get down to the Van about 11am was holding my breath as to what i would find, but i was surprised, No Flies no musty smells nothing in fact the only thing i found wrong was that the fruit i had left  had died  ;D

After a while doing all the flushing and cleaning we went to get some shopping for freezer

Here til about Tuesday as i have a work meeting in Redhill on Wednesday or Thursday, then it will be back again for sure. Fitted my WiFi Aerial but had to stop as i left the extension cable at home but that went up OK.

Glad my vents i put up last year stopped the flies getting in  :)

Had a meet with friends in the club last nice Cheers @Barry One  ;D

Boiler and Gas OK, I had a new bottle delivered last Thursday, Pressure at 1.5 bar so all is well didn't have to fill up

I bought a pack of AA and AAA for the remotes, clock etc but no 9v for the smoke alarm so thats on my shopping list for tomorrow

That’s good news Gerry so no shocks for you when you opened up your van, you could use your dried fruit as a work of art.😂

    John.

That's good Gerry. Glad everthing was ok.

How was the dehudifier box on top of the tv? I assume it was all ok.

I have a fault on the boiler when on heating. Error F4 Hi Limit Thermostat Failure   ???
It happened once in March just before lockdown. Was ok all last year up to November.

Serviced beginning of March and getting the fault since.
    Will have to contact them.
They have prob dislodged the thermister or something when doing the service.

So we got down at midday on Saturday.
Everything was pretty much okay. Like you Gerry, hardly any dead flies so the netting I put behind the vents seems to have done the job. Still a few but I’ll look more into the ceiling apex another day.
The packet of ham we left in the fridge looked exactly the same as when we bought it. Makes me worry about what was in it.
Willerby had even been in to adjust all the doors. Total result as they were driving us nuts.
Only 3 issues, the washing up liquid had exploded in the heat. Just a congealed blob on the side which was easy to clean up. The ketchup looks like it had fermented slightly, again in the heat.
At some point we reckon someone on the site had shut our power off so the stuff in the freezer was ruined. There was a little bit of mould in the freezer as well. Site said there was a power cut but it would of had to have been for weeks and it didn’t trip as everything was normal when we got in.
All pretty good considering. Now just enjoying the week before we come home.

Strange that ham still looking ok ??

I chucked everything away, I had some Ice cream in Freezer which still looked frozen and had not thawed

Thats a nightmare when the electrics off, I put some Cable-ties on my Electric Plug as i had issues with workmen taking my plug off to use their equipment - Which they shouldn't do as they are stealing my electric.

If you put enough Cable ties on then you will have proof that someone is Disconnecting your Power supply.

If the Parks do not inform you that they are doing essential maintenance on the parks electrics or have to switch off for any other reason thei i would claim off the parks insurance for loss of food In the Fridge or Freezer Espectically when you can stock up a freezer with at least £100 worth of food its no laughing matter.

Wow. I thought it was going to be a green mouldy mess.  ;D
Strange about the washing up liquid. Was it full?

    Enjoy your time there.

Yeah I think it was pretty full. I didn’t see it myself as I was unpacking the car. Misses has tidied it all up by the time I had got in. We are still using the washing up bottle now (comes in a pump) so wasn’t a full rupture.
Thinking about it Gerry, I wonder if that’s what happened. Maybe Willerby used the fridge plug when trimming the door frames. But then who plugged it back in? Still a head scratcher.
Just over the moon to be back. It’s pretty windy at the mo but even though there are now holiday makers here it’s still very quiet and tranquil. Had a good chat with my neighbours and looks like I’ll have some new ones on one side soon. Very happy

Not talking about the Plug indoor but at the external box where the power to the caravan comes from.

A few years ago i was working Nights at Waterloo Station in London, and had a couple of days off in Lieu which i spent at my caravan, I was typing up some reports on my laptop when all the power went off, I check at the internal RCB box and all was on so i went outside and there were a couple of workmen  using an angle grinder to cut something off the caravan next door, using my electric.  >:(

Thats why its important to safeguard your power supply, I did with some Cable ties  ;)

    Ah I getcha.

No can’t be like that for me. We are hard wired in from the outside fuse box to the inside one.

In future I’m going to make sure the microwave clock is set. That way if it’s back to 00:00 I know something has been up

That’s our first visible check, when we get back to our ‘van for power cuts having happened ( I.e.the microwave clock).  If it’s  winking at us, we’ll check the penny on top of the ice cube tray, and if it’s sunk we have an issue that needs dealing with. If it hasn’t then the freezer foods OK. It’s so much part of the routine of arriving at the ‘van, like closing taps before turning the water on, it’s done almost unconsciously.

I like that penny idea. I may steal that.
