Best strong fixings for internal walls
    « on: August 02, 2021, 10:11:37 am »
    Hi all
I have a 2014 Victory caravan that has curtain pelmets and runners fitted. Although these were excellent in their time I am looking to update them with chrome poles and looped curtains .
I have attached small shelves in the bathroom using the Plasplugs hollow door fixings from Screwfix but not sure if these will be strong enough to support curtails on poles.
Any advice on strong fixings appreciated.
    thanks

So we just hung some photos and bits in our 'van.

We used some plasplugs and it seems fairly strong. A couple of them bottomed out a tad, we don't think on the external skin but maybe on some bracing.

For the heavier pictures we actually found the wooden supporting struts behind the wall. They can be located by looking for the screws on the outside of the van. We actually just pushed the wall until it didn't wobble and was firm. Done the trick for us.

Many thanks for the suggestion to look for the internal struts.
    Will do.
