Today is the day

Off to the 'van for our first extended break. Everyone is slightly under the weather, cars not packed but at least it's charged. So not off to a great start. Think we'll be ready for the off come lunch time.
I love this day, locking up and leaving our worries behind but this feels a little too chaotic.

So arrived yesterday around 8pm, all of us a bit tom and dick, 24hr sickness bug, but we pushed through the journey.

So glad we did, weather is glorious today and we are all feeling a lot better. Had a great day. Only wish the weather would hold out like this for the next 2 weeks.
 
Of course, straight away I found a couple of jobs to do. Our mate’s dog has had a bit of a munch on one of our net curtains. Has a rip in it so will need to be replaced. Anyone know the best place to get a net curtain. Looked on amazon and can order but I’d have to change both in the room so they don’t look too different.

Also the kitchen tap is leaking from under the single tap leaver. Worried it will go when a mate is here borrowing the van so am going to order another, found it on amazon for £18.50. Easy enough to replace as access is pretty clear. Can be here within a day. There is always something haha

Loads of updates to the site. They have been splashing the cash. I’ll post some photos of all the new sections tomorrow.

Well, beach tomorrow so the dog will be happy, he’s already pretty relaxed

Sorry Sparkalicious, their website(Gerrys at Home) has disappeared.  It is a pity because they made god products, delivered promptly. We has all nets in our caravan replaced last year.

Oh, that is a shame. I’ll have a root around here and see if there is a shop that could provide them.

Another thing popped up today. Extractor fan in bathroom is making an awful din. Proper high pitched squeak. Thought it was some bearings, sprayed WD40 but not done a thing. Had the cover off and I think it’s in the motor. Will have to get a replacement.

About to replace the kitchen tap. Amazon have delivered already and as the leak is getting worse there is no time like the present

Question about these nets. Do you have any tips on measuring up? IE where is the drop calculated from. I can't seem to my drop that is in my van already listed in the drop down menu. Does that mean I have to go custom?

We used custom made for all of ours as they seem to be odd lengths, still not too expensive.
Measured from the wire to where we wanted the bottom to be.  Measured width of the window opening then selected the 2.5 x width to provide good effect.

In this instance, for net curtains, simply measure from the top of your window frame to where you would like the curtain to finish. Please note that our standard slot top heading is 4cm with a 1cm stand up

So I can just ignore this and measure from the wire to where I want it to end up? Sounds good to me.

Do you know what the slot system is called that the french doors is called. I need loops in the top band to attach the loops through.

We measured ours from the wire because some of the main windows have small tapered windows above them (from the main frame to the apex roof). The nets are only on the main large windows.  There is about 1cm of net above the wire, so allow for this.
All the nets in the lounge are aligned at the top and bottom, even though some side windows are shorter than the patio doors.

Nice one thanks. I may give them a call when we come to order to make sure that I get it right. I'll let the kids destroy what we already have for the rest of this season. The net next to the dining table could tell a story
