    Door locks

    Has anyone changed their key locks on their caravan doors and if so how difficult was it as looking to put security keys lock on my van

    Barry, I did mine, When i bought my upgrade I had to have a new aerial fitted one weekend i went there and it was done, when i said at the office how did they get in the bloke told me the airel guy has master keys  ???

    so....

    I went to screwfix and bought this

    You need to get the right size for your door, Take yours off and go down to screwfix and match it up

    Barry ,  very easy to fit , just one screw on the edge of the door and the barrel will slide out , takes a minute, you will need to know the length of it to get the right size . That’s if you have a more modern van with a upvc door.. Also think about whether you want a key on the inside or a thumb turn.

    Hi Barry, as already stated, the locks are really easy to change.  Some shops can provide "keyed alike" locks, so the same key fits both doors.  I may be wrong, but I thought it was a requirement in caravans for escape doors to have a thub turn on the inside.  Personally, I would always go for this option - far safer in an emergency.
