    Great News
    « on: June 04, 2020, 01:53:51 pm »
Just had an email from my site which says:
"GREAT NEWS FROM THE MINISTER IN THE COMMONS THIS MORNING  HE ACKNOWLEDGES THE LOW RISK WITH SELF CONTAINED ACCOMODATION AND HAS SAID THAT WE ‘WILL BE AT THE FRONT OF THE QUEUE FOR RE-OPENING ON THE 4TH JULY’ (subject to public health issues)."

"WE HAVE TO DO A RISK ASSESMENT AND I WILL BE E MAILING YOU BEFORE WE OPEN WITH DETAILS OF HOW THINGS WILL BE.  THERE WILL BE SOCIAL DISTANCING, OBVIOSLY BAR WILL NOT BE OPEN, I DO NOT KNOW ABOUT THE POOLS OR PLAY AREAS BUT I SUSPECT PLAY AREAS WILL NEED TO REMAIN CLOSED.  IT WILL BE NICE TO HAVE YOU BACK.  LETS HOPE ALL GOES WELL WITH THE HEALTH ISSUES".

Lets keep  our fingers crossed  ;D

Yes like you i was hoping it was going to be earlier.

But at least now we have something to look forward to.  :) If nothing changes.

I think it will apply to all sites in England.  Not so sure about Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland though.

    That is fantastic news.

I have also had an email today from Park Dean with the following

    Quote from: Park Dean
We are working hard preparing our parks to welcome Owners and Holidaymakers. Our teams are setting out detailed plans for reopening which include social distancing policies, enhanced hygiene standards, alongside additional Owner operating practices to ensure that when Government instruction allows you to return to your holiday home, you can be reassured that everything is in place for you to enjoy your experience safely.

The closure of our holiday parks remains up to and including Sunday 5th July 2020. This means we will re-start our season at 9am on Monday 6th July 2020, subject to Government advice

I am now full steam ahead for our first week on the 6th for a week. Will be a real blow if that gets pushed back.

    Keeping everything crossed!

Thats great news too.  Fingers crossed

Looks like all the Parks in England will be opening up for owners from that week in July.

Oh sorry for the caps lock. That is how the email was sent. I think the owner  of the site is getting excited   ;D

So yet another email from Park Dean with some very positive news. They seem to full steam a head for the first weekend in July and now as an owner we can visit from the Saturday. So an extra 2 days for me and my crew.

    Quote from: Park Dean
    4th July parks reopening

Your park team is very much looking forward to seeing you again. They have been working incredibly hard ensuring your park is at its best from the first moment you can gain access, and we are all hoping the sun makes another appearance, so that your return is a warm and sunny one.

Since I last wrote to you, much has changed, and the mood of the country has firmly switched to reopening the country and doing so safely. To this end, the Government has clearly stated hospitality and leisure of all types will reopen in a phased and safe manner from 4th July.

That is the date we are targeting and when we expect to be able to welcome you back on park:
    •   4th July: Holiday home owners back on park from 12 noon when we will open the parks
    •   Holiday home owners operating sub-let or private lettings will be able to gain access to their caravan to prepare the accommodation but lettings to holiday makers will only be permitted from 6th July
    •   6th July: Holiday makers allowed on park from 12 noon
As you know the date is not set in stone (and parks in England, Scotland and Wales may open at different times), and we are still awaiting the legal permission to reopen our parks from the authorities and will keep you posted if the date is changed by Government.

    Welcome back

Our parks provide a great place to escape the busy world and provide a safe place for families and friends to come together and have fun and relax. To this end, the health and safety of our employees, holiday home owners and holiday makers is our top priority and throughout lockdown we have been working closely with sector trade bodies, other holiday park operators, senior health and safety executives and government advisers to develop operational protocols (rules and ways of working) which are the ‘industry benchmark’. This work has guided the necessary changes you will notice when you arrive, which include:
    •   Social distancing measures in all venues, and visible one-way system around park
    •   Enhanced cleaning and hygiene procedures for restaurants and shared spaces
    •   Additional pop-up handwashing/sanitization facilities will also be provided
    •   Park shops encouraging contactless transactions, queue management systems and sanitation of baskets and trolleys (as you will have experienced in supermarkets)
    •   Our venues will be operating on reduced capacities in all areas to ensure correct social distancing, with all food being served directly to tables. Takeaways will be delivered to a collection point so they can be enjoyed in your caravan or lodge
    •   A range of leisure and entertainment facilities will run at a reduced capacity
    •   Asking you to only enter a caravan or lodge if you are staying there, although we hope you will enjoy meeting your friends and family on verandas and grass areas in the fresh air

All our staff, will be undertaking additional intensive training on these operating protocols. As you know UK holiday parks are already ideally designed for social distancing (for example caravans and lodges are at least five meters apart) and combined with these measures, I hope you feel reassured that your stay with us will be safe and enjoyable.

    Owner support package

We do have more certainty on opening (4th July) and a growing degree of confidence that wasn’t there a few weeks ago. Whilst this is great news, we are very aware the past few months have seen tragedy for many families and we are also very aware that as the health crisis retreats it will be replaced by a very serious economic one. With this in mind, our park General Manager teams have been clear that their owners would welcome support in these tough times and therefore a balanced package has been put together that will help over the next 18 months.

    The package has five elements:
    1. Zero pitch fee increase for 2021: pitch fee will be frozen in 2021
    2. Year extension of tenure: 2020 has in many respects been a lost year, so we will be offering you an additional 12 months ownership by inviting you to extend your tenure end date
    3. 50% credit off pitch fee for period of closure: all owners who have paid 2020 pitch fee in full or via our direct debit scheme will be entitled to a credit towards their 2021 pitch fee equal to 50% of their 2020 pitch fee for the time we have been closed from 23rd March 2020, up to and including 3rd July 2020. This credit relates solely to the pitch fee only and will be taken off your 2021 pitch fee. It does not relate to any other charges such as utilities
    4. Increased discount for on-park spend to 30% for 2020 and 2021: as previously communicated, when parks open you will also be able to enjoy an increased discount of 30% on all food, drink and payable activities until the end of 2021 with your owner’s card. This offer will be immediate as you arrive back on park
    5. Three month payment holiday; as previously communicated, owners who are experiencing difficulties can apply for a three month payment holiday. We’re pleased that to-date we have supported nearly 400 owners with this scheme
Over the next month or so we will be in touch and will ask you to fill out a simple form which will enable us to process items 1, 2 and 3.

Visit us online for more details on the ‘support package’, our legal position in relation to Covid-19 and also more detail on our Covid-19 operational protocols to keep all safe.

We look forward to seeing you back on park from the 4th July and plans are in place for some socially-distanced welcome back events.

Be assured of our commitment to you in these extraordinary times, stay safe and we look forward to seeing you very soon

    Yours sincerely,
    Chloe
    Owner Experience Director

They also seemed to have back down from the backlash about not getting any price reduction etc. It's not a lot but is something.

All parks should be opening to owners only as from now. The fact that they can’t defies common sense and has no justification.

The fact that prospective buyers can now view caravans on sites that owners cannot visit adds to the absurdity of the situation. Potentially a number of different groups of people could view a particular caravan on one day and yet owners cannot set foot in theirs.

    Ridiculous!

I know its stupid isn't it.

Especially now we have "Bubbles"  and can stay overnight in them.

Whos to say the other people in the "bubble" aren't carrying covid. It just makes no sense.

You can go to your static and self isolate just like being at home. All self contained.

To be honest Ian I don't think anyone know whats happening  You can go to a packed Beach with your Kids, Take them to McDonalds and Even take part in a Protest with 10,000 other people but you can't take your kids to school even after its been scientifically proven that Children very rarely get Covid, Far less than normal flu, but they still insist in a 2 metre distance which is not practical in schools.

Parents are desperate to get back to work, not sitting at home with children who are missing out on their education

    Yes thats very true Gerry.

As you say chidren could return but looks like September now.

I just hope after all these demonstrations and people going to the beaches etc we dont get another peak in infections in two weeks. The R rate goes up and another lockdown  ???

    Lets just hope not.

We have just had an email from our caravan park.

Giving us all the info about hopefully opening on 4th July.

Plus this. Which i was not expecting as its a fairly small family  run site.

Sorry for the caps lock only that is how i got the email.

    Quote
    "PITCH FEES.

THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF TALK ABOUT PITCH FEES.  WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN YOU , IN FACT FAR FROM IT.  PITCH FEES WILL NOT INCREASE NEXT SEASON AND WE WILL APPLY A £500 CREDIT + VAT, WHICH GIVES YOU A CREDIT OF £600 OFF YOUR PITCH FEES FOR NEXT YEAR.  THIS WILL BE SUBJECT TO ALL FEES PAID BY THE DUE DATES AND ONLY FOR THOSE THAT PAID FULL PITCH FEES THIS SEASON. ( SOME HAVE PURCHASED NEW CARAVANS WITH FREE PITCH FEES).

I HOPE THIS CLEARS THINGS UP.  WE ARE NOT LIKE THE BIG PARKS WHOSE FEES ARE AT LEAST DOUBLE OURS IN MOST CASES AND CARAVANS ARE WELL ABOVE THE RECOMMENDED RETAIL PRICES, BUT WE DO APPRECIATE WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH AND ENDEAVOUR TO DO OUR BEST FOR YOU. WE DO HOPE WE HAVE A GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR OWNERS  AND APPRECIATE YOUR FRIENDSHIP AND LOYALTY. WE MISS YOU ALL IMMENSLY.

WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR RETURN,

TAKE CARE AND KEEP WELL AND SAFE,

MAY, BERNARD, RICHARD & VICKY. x

I was gobsmacked.  :o But so pleased they are looking after the owners.

A site i would certainly recommend to anyone if you like small family run sites.
